Agricultural Cattle-yard Fabrication

Custom cattle-yard and equipment modifications for a grazing property.

The challenge: A grazing property needed a cattle-yard upgrade: new forcing-yard rails, a crush side gate, and modifications to an existing loading ramp. The work had to be tough enough for cattle, simple to repair in the paddock, and finished before the winter mustering.

Our approach: We used heavy tube and flat bar for the rails, welded with through-bolted connections where parts might need replacing in the field. The crush side gate was designed to swing both ways and latch from a safe side. The loading ramp modification added a tread plate surface and a side rail that could be unbolted for truck access. We galvanised the items for exterior life.

The outcome: The yard was delivered and bolted together in a day. The grazier reported the new rails handled mustering without bending, and the through-bolted design meant a damaged section could be unbolted and replaced without a welder on site. The loading ramp modification improved safety for both stock and handler.

Scope & materials

Heavy tube and flat bar for rails, through-bolted connections for field replacement, tread plate on the loading ramp, hot-dip galvanising for exterior life. Scope included fabrication, delivery and bolt-up on site; the grazier supplied labour for the earthworks.
