MIG and TIG welding in mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium, in the workshop and on site.

MIG welding

MIG (Metal Inert Gas) is our everyday process. It is fast, it gives good penetration, and it suits mild steel and stainless work where speed matters. We use it for frames, guards, hoppers, trays and general fabrication. With the right gas and wire, it gives a smooth, consistent bead with minimal spatter.

TIG welding

TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) is slower but far more controllable. We use it for thin sheet, stainless and aluminium where the weld must look clean — food-grade benches, architectural handrails, visible trim and cosmetic fabrications. TIG produces a neat, colour-controlled bead without the spatter of MIG, but it takes longer, so we choose it where the finish justifies the time.

Materials we weld

Size and thickness

Welding covers material from thin sheet to heavy structural sections, in mild steel, stainless 304/316 and aluminium. The filler is matched to the parent material, and joints are prepared for the load they carry.

On-site welding

Sometimes the job cannot come to us. Our mobile welders arrive with a generator, wire, rods and tooling, and can weld on site — repairing broken equipment, fitting guards in place, joining sections that are too large to transport, or modifying steelwork in situ. We plan around power, ventilation and fire risk before we strike an arc.

Preparation matters

Mill scale, rust and paint are ground back before welding. Fit-up uses clamps and fixtures, and the filler is matched to the parent material.
